Company Background

Established in 2000, Allium is a Designers Guild concept store offering home and lifestyle solutions and luxury home interior design. Allium are stockist of the latest European, USA, Australian and NZ furnishing fabrics, wallpapers, bed-linen, furniture and home accessories.

The company is owned by Sue Barber and Jo Burrell, Founders and Creative Directors, and they can help you find great interior design ideas - from interior design for bathrooms, furniture and interior design flooring.

The inspiration to establish Allium came from Tricia Guild, founder and director of Designers Guild UK, who approached Sue and Joanne with the idea of opening a Designers Guild concept store here in NZ. This was a unique and new proposition back in 2000.

Allium has since grown into a well established, reputable company which strives to maintain its creative excellence and passion for interiors and homewares. Allium is consistently sourcing and investing in new products, in order to stay at the forefront of emerging trends at an international level.

Furniture and Cushions

Allium continues to produce well made contemporary upholstered furniture; bespoke, unique pieces all manufactured to high standards and made and designed in NZ.

Bedlinen

Allium supplies a wide range of bed linen. Key brands include American designed Dwell, Designers Guild UK, and we offer a range of bed linen designed and styled here in NZ.

Homewares

Allium supplies a huge range of homewares, from kitchen accessories to cushions and home decorations, which are sourced all over the world. Our specialty is embracing products sourced here in NZ, Australasia and Europe.

Throughout the years the business has evolved, driven by Sue and Jo’s determination to create a more exciting feast for customers to see and experience. Their creative energy is an inspiration to both their staff and customers who embrace this dynamic catalyst that has been a key contributor to the growth of Allium as a business.
